On February 8, local officials, community leaders and residents gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Corazón del Valle in Panorama City. Developed by HOLOS Communities, this 180-unit complex offers safe and stable housing to nearly 400 individuals and families.

A key highlight of the project is SFCHC’s future satellite clinic, which will be located within Corazón del Valle and open to both residents and neighbors. It will offer services ranging from primary and pediatric care to the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

“We are thankful to be part of such a wonderful project that assists the unhoused, improves public health and increases sustainability,” said SFCHC CEO Audrey Simons, who joined Congresswoman Luz Rivas, Assemblywoman Celeste Rodriguez, L.A City Councilmember Imelda Padilla and other project supporters and partners at the event.

“This is a powerful symbol of what can be achieved when public leaders, community members and organizations come together with a shared purpose. Together, we are paving the way for families to enjoy a lovely, sustainable home and whole-person care in one location.”

Designed to meet diverse needs, Corazón del Valle includes a combination of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The complex prioritizes accessibility by allocating half of its units as permanent supportive housing for individuals facing disabilities, dealing with chronic illnesses or emerging from homelessness.

Corazón del Valle also integrates sustainable design features, including solar panels and a greywater recycling system that supports eco-friendly landscaping. These elements reduce environmental impact while helping to lower utility costs for residents. The development is located on Lanark Street, near the planned East San Fernando Valley Light Rail line, to enhance access to public transportation.

The opening of Corazón del Valle reflects a community-wide effort to provide secure housing, accessible healthcare and a promising future for vulnerable populations in the San Fernando Valley.
